DUBAI: Motorists across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now plan their fuel expenses for the month ahead as the UAE Fuel Price Committee released the official rates for June 2025.

The latest update shows a drop in diesel prices, while petrol prices remain unchanged from May.

The revised rates, which take effect from June 1, reflect the monthly trend tied to international oil markets.

Since the deregulation of petrol prices in 2015, fuel rates in the UAE have been reviewed each month in accordance with global market fluctuations. After a slight increase in May following two months of dips, June sees relative price stability, with only diesel reflecting a reduction.

Price breakdown

According to the committee’s announcement, Super 98 petrol remains steady at Dh2.58 per litre – the same price as in May. Likewise, Special 95 petrol continues to retail at Dh2.47 per litre, showing no change from the previous month.

E-Plus 91 petrol, typically used by vehicles with lower compression engines, is priced at Dh2.39 per litre, unchanged from May. This marks a second consecutive month of price consistency for petrol categories, after a brief upward trend.

Diesel price update

In contrast to petrol, diesel sees a welcome drop. The June rate stands at Dh2.45 per litre, down from Dh2.52 in May. This 7 fils decrease comes after diesel prices had slightly increased last month, reflecting a shift in global fuel supply and demand dynamics.

Diesel, widely used by commercial transport and heavy vehicles, plays a significant role in the cost of goods transportation. The latest dip could offer a marginal relief to businesses reliant on fuel-intensive logistics.

Monthly adjustments

Fuel price revisions are part of the UAE's strategy to align local fuel costs with global energy markets. This approach ensures price transparency and reflects fluctuations in international oil prices, exchange rates, and other economic factors.
